BlackSky, a geospatial intelligence solutions provider based out of Herndon, VA, is looking for a Software Developer to join their growing team! Providing an easy, affordable way to access high-quality satellite imaging and insights, they enable various organizations from different fields to task, collect, and transform data from earth observation, global sensor networks, mobile devices, and social media. In this role, you will be assisting the goal to maximize community and commercial clouds on all domains for agility, innovation, integrated intelligence, enhanced security and resource efficiency. Actively participating in all aspects of the release planning cycle activities, you will design, code, and implement components of the overall system. Ideal candidates will have a familiarity with agile methodologies, software development and release life cycles, source control and change management.
Clearance Requirement:  The successful candidate must hold an Active TS/SCI security clearance for which the US Government (requires US Citizenship).
Location: This role is remote but candidate will need to go Customer site (Springfield, VA) as needed.

Does This Describe You?

    • You have at least 5 + years of experience delivering and maintaining commercial software in a production environment.
    • You have expert software development skills (in order of importance: Java, JavaScript, Python, C++)
    • You have experience with AWS and DevOps
    • Bonus points if you have a familiarity with geospatial data processing tools and services such as GDAL, MapBox, GeoServer, and TileServerGL
