Socially Determined, a social risk analytics company for organizations committed to addressing the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), is looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join their team! Their platform, SocialScape®, quantifies social risk factors and analyzes the impact of these factors on health and business metrics, and their team of social risk experts provides advisory services to translate these insights into actionable solutions with measurable benefits. Healthcare organizations, government agencies, non-profits, and life sciences companies rely on these powerful insights to drive high-value strategies and programming around pressing needs like food insecurity, financial strain, transportation, housing and health literacy.
In this role, you will help with the cleaning, processing, and validation of client data, including claims, electronic health records, and programmatic data. You will load, organize, explore, and conduct detailed analyses of large datasets consisting of millions of persons and hundreds of millions of encounters, combined with Socially Determined’s unique SDOH risk indices, social risk factor scores, and proprietary algorithms.
The ideal candidate for this position will be skilled at building clear and compelling stories from complex data, surfacing actionable insights regarding the impact of social risk on utilization patterns, costs, and outcomes. They will be fluent in structured query language (SQL) to build sophisticated queries, have the analytic skills to plan and design thoughtful analyses, identify components that support compelling findings, and summarize findings in concise visualizations and polished deliverables.

Location: This role is fully remote.

Does This Describe You?

    • You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience with complex SQL and business intelligence tools (e.g., Qlik, PowerBI, Tableau, or other similar tools)
    • Strong analytical reasoning skills and experience planning and conducting analysis
    • You have experience with another programming language (e.g., Python, R)
    • You have experience working with Medicare datasets, including ACO CCLF data and/or Medicare Advantage Stars data is strongly preferred.
    • Bonus points if you have an understanding of health care from the perspective of payers, providers, and other partners across the health care delivery and financing ecosystem.
