Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of wearable products from initial concept through ongoing product support
  • Develop embedded firmware and software to support system functionality
  • Capable of design, layout, and modeling of assemblies (PCBAs, Cables, etc.)
  • Develop and assemble non-functional and functional prototypes of systems and sub-systems
  • Analyze product requirements, and plan and estimate development activities
  • Develop clear and concise electronics design specifications to meet requirements
  • Develop innovative solutions to satisfy the challenging requirements for wearable products
  • Develop and execute test plans for unit testing; and work closely with the system test team to ensure the delivery of high-quality design
  • Interact with team members from other disciplines to complete project deliverables, solve problems and to report status
  • Support fielded products, and perform analysis of field-reported issues

Requirements

Functional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Proven ability to drive innovation in the engineering conceptualization stages by pushing technology limits while balancing feasibility criteria such as manufacturability, cost, technology risk, implementation schedule
  • Solid analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with good sound interpersonal skills

Education and Experience:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role involving the design and development of embedded firmware and software
  • Experience in embedded C firmware. Atmel microcontroller experience is a plus
  • Experience in electrical design including component selection, system architecture and documentation
  • Experience with mixed-signal design, battery management, sensors, microcontrollers, USB and RF circuits
  • Experience in ATAK environment and/or Android software development is a plus.
  • Experience with Altium PCB design software is preferred
  • Previous industry experience working for a company or a consultant company in the military, medical, wearables or biomedical goods space is highly desirable
