About hatch I.T.
Tim Winkler is a serial entrepreneur who has worked at tech companies all over the world. He’s passionate about helping DC become a national hub for technology startups. In 2013, he founded hatch I.T. from a garage in Leesburgh, VA as a boutique consulting firm, helping software startups scale their engineering teams.
Two years later, hatch I.T. developed Scale, which gave software startups a better way to recruit software engineers. Scale was an instant hit among engineers and startups who were tired of spammy, transactional recruiting.
In 2018, hatch I.T. began helping some of DC’s biggest tech Meetup groups host events. Thanks to hatch I.T.’s many startup partnerships, we were able to bring technical founders in to speak about how they solved programming challenges and built innovative products.
As we gathered feedback from the hundreds of engineers who attended our events, we quickly realized that there was a need for a better way for engineers to find events and opportunities. Working with local developers, we built hatchpad as a community resource.
