Product

Procurated is the only online ratings and review platform for the public sector. The Procurated platform allows procurement professionals from government, education, and non-profit organizations to find the best suppliers based on feedback from their peers.

Company

David Yarkin founded Procurated in 2019 to solve a problem he experienced personally as Pennsylvania’s Chief Procurement Officer. Buyers are responsible for making critical purchases with taxpayer dollars, often with little to no information about the vendor’s past performance. Consumer technology has shown the power of peer reviews to improve decision making. So David assembled a team of technology experts and applied years of public procurement experience to make consumer tech work in a high-stakes, highly regulated government environment. The team has grown rapidly since Procurated’s seed funding round in early 2019 with over a dozen hires from companies like Livingsocial, Xometry, Yelp, and WeddingWire. Procurated has established formal partnerships with three states since launch and has begun to monetize the platform with supplier sponsorships.

Location

COVID Location Update: Procurated has been 100% remote since March of 2019 and will remain remote into 2021. They hope to give employees in the DC area an option to return to an office as soon as it is safe to do so. That said, they have already hired new team members based outside of the DC area and will continue to consider candidates nationally for their open positions.

By working out of the Dupont Circle WeWork in DC, Procurated has placed itself right at the center of the DC tech scene. Just a few minutes walk from the Dupont Circle metro, Procurated is near a variety DC’s best and trendiest bars, coffee shops, shopping, and restaurants.
